hey all, been too damn long since i posted here. ok, i picked up an old project of mine, the fighting spider. the idea is to have a weapon platform on a spider like robot.

ok this is the idea (ver rough sketch, never mind that). the legs are replaced by (i think) better ones

finished legs (only 4):


working on the ammo system now, i was thinking kinda like those APU's from the matrix, with ammocrates that slide in a slot.
i made a mechanical arm that keeps the crate in place. should end up looking somewhat like this:



ok thats it for now. I use 3d MAX, have about a million polies on the 4 legs, dunno how muchos on the ammosystem....

this is roughly how its gonna be i think, 4 legs in the scene, the "head" not nearly finished, the rough shape of the body done.



update on the main body, added a hatch and some steps
the blue cilinders is where the legs wil be attached.the space below the walkway is for pipes, wires and other and mechanical parts..

as promised:

i decided to make some sort of interior as well, so i hollowed out the main hull, added 2 doors that swing open to reveal the inside (inside not done yet, this is just to give you the idea).

inside there will be room for some troops and a few recognaissance droids. the droids are foldable, so they take up less space in the hull. i thought it might be funny to have spider-droids you can see a folded version of the droid in front of the hull. there will be a loader arm to load them into the hull.

Jeetje, ziet er echt gaaf uit! Erg nice! Vind alleen die lens niet zo geweldig bij passen.. Misschien meerdere sensoren bij integreren voor "zicht"?
